While in Orlando recently for the World Religious Travel Expo, I visited another attraction, The JESUS Film Project.  Located very near WordSpring Discovery Center, The JESUS Film Project is an interesting site for learning about the making and distribution of many powerful tools for Christian evangelism throughout the world. 

The JESUS Film is available in all major languages of the world and is dubbed quite skillfully, not subtitled.  Because it is dubbed, those people watching are hearing it in their own language and are not required to be able to read.  

This side trip trip  takes less than an hour to visit but is well worth the time of those interested in faith based travel.  The JESUS Film Project is a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ.   

While in Orlando recently for the World Religious Travel Expo, I visited the Wycliffe's WordSpring Discovery Center.  This goal of this organization is to translate the Bible into as many languages and dialects as possible.  To date they have completed 4,661 translations and have 2,251 left to do. 

Touring WordSpring Discovery Center will take less than an hour and is well worth the time.  Whether or not the purpose of your trip to Orlando is faith based, for all of you interested in continuing the tradition of sharing the Bible to people in their own language, this is a must-see site.

Just a few minutes from downtown Orlando, WordSpring has an interactive exhibits interesting to all ages, a gift shop with items from all over the world and a small cafe'.  If you have been to WordSpring Discovery Center and would like to share your comments, please respond below.

The first-ever World Religious Travel Expo was fantastic!  It is still hard to believe that I saw a group presentation done by representatives of Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Turkey and Cyprus. All of these representatives promoted travel to their own countries and, even more amazing, co-promoted travel to the other countries. 
In addition to meeting travel suppliers from these countries, I talked with travel suppliers from several European countries, including Switzerland, a centuries-old haven for those seeking religious freedom.  Faith-based travel in Italy is a big part of their travel business as well as in Germany.

The Caribbean also has a great deal of faith-based travel with representatives of the Bahamas and Jamaica, the Barbados and many other islands seeking faith-based tourists.  Bermuda (not in the Caribbean) does a lot of faith-based travel as well as these other islands.

People often ask me about suggestions for different ways to have  family reunions and cruises are a good way to make sure yours is fun.  Family-group cruises provide such a variety of options for each family member that they are hard to beat for fun as well as for value.

Just thinking of the dining options, imagine a place where the toddlers can eat what they want, teens are delighted with options that appeal to them and those family members who look forward to gourmet dining will also be pleased.  And since there are options available 24/7, no one need go hungry while waiting for the next meal, reducing crankiness for all ages.  Group travel of this calibre is easily satisfied by a cruise.

The World Religious Travel Expo&Educational Conference starts next week in Orlando and I am looking forward to learning more about this travel niche.  Faith-based travel is one of the fastest growing segments of travel and I want to have the most up-to-date info for you.

Fall through early spring can be an enchanting time to take a trip to your favorite European city.  The crowds have left and life has returned to normal for an authentic taste of the city without scads of tourists.  Off-season air fare is usually lower along with group travel tours, regardless of the size of the tour.  European river cruises are also lower during the off-season and make it possible to visit several cities.  What better way to recharge your batteries than a trip to your favorite city or the excitement of discovering a new one.  Happy traveling!  Jan

Did you know that 5.6 million bags are mishandled by the airlines each year?  85% of them are returned to their owners in 48 hours or less, but that leaves over 1 million bags that are delayed for longer than two days.
